Cookie Policy.
Short version: this website doesn't set tracking cookies, doesn't run analytics, and doesn't fingerprint you. Here's the long version.
What we don't do
To be direct:
- No Google Analytics.
- No Meta / Facebook pixel.
- No LinkedIn Insight Tag.
- No Hotjar, Clarity, Mixpanel, or session-replay tools.
- No advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or cross-site tracking.
- No fingerprinting.
If any of that changes in the future, we will update this page, ask for your consent through a proper banner (not a dark-pattern one), and give you an easy way to say no.
What we do use
| Name | Type | Where | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ccnav-v1 | localStorage | /call-tool.html only | Remembers which step of the "Book Your Call" navigator you're on so you can return to it later. This value stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. | Until you clear it |
That is the only piece of client-side storage this site writes. Because it is strictly necessary for the tool to function the way you'd expect, it does not require consent under PIPEDA guidance.
Third-party services that see your device
Even without cookies, a normal website loads assets from third-party CDNs, which see your IP address when your browser requests those files. On this site:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com): serves the Fraunces, Instrument Sans, and JetBrains Mono typefaces. Google receives your IP as part of the request. Google states it does not use this data for advertising.
- Tailwind CDN (cdn.tailwindcss.com): serves our CSS framework at page load.
- Calendly: only loaded if you click through to the booking link on /book.html. Their cookies are governed by Calendly's own privacy policy.
- Vercel (our host): may set a short-lived security cookie on some requests to protect the site from abuse. It does not identify you personally.
How to clear the one thing we do save
To clear the ccnav-v1 progress marker:
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → check Cookies and other site data → Clear.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → find simmedia.ca → Remove Selected.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → find simmedia.ca → Remove.
Or, in a browser DevTools console: localStorage.removeItem('ccnav-v1').
Changes to this policy
If we ever add cookies, analytics, or any tracking technology, we will update this page and (for anything non-necessary) ask for your consent before setting it. Any material change will be noted in the "Last updated" line above.
